K.D. Walker is a Turkish and Creole writer born and raised in Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Pomona College and is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Notre Dame.

Her writing has been published or is forthcoming in the LA Times, Electric Literature, Threepenny Review, The Hopkins Review, and elsewhere. In 2023, she was selected as a Tin House Summer Workshop Scholar and a Periplus Collective Fellow. Based on her novel-in-progress, she was selected as one of four finalists for the 2024 Emerging Writer Award by the Key West Literary Seminar (Marianne Russo Award).

While in college, K.D. worked as the Research Assistant to New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Lethem and was under the tutelage of Mary Gaitskill. She was formerly on the editorial staff of Electric Literature and is now a Reader for One Story. She will be an Editorial Intern at Penguin Random House this summer.
